Summertime!

This week has seemed like the longest week of the summer by far. It seems like it should be next Tuesday by now. I'm not sure why, it's been a good week, other than Tuesday.

Monday we played at the splashpad and park, Tuesday I accidentally locked Weston in the car at the grocery store and had to call 911, Wednesday we took Weston to see Toy Story 3, and tonight we went to the driving range! I don't have any pictures of my horrible parenting moment on Tuesday, but here are the times we like to remember:

I thought it would be fun to take Weston to see Toy Story so a few weeks ago I rented the original Toy Story to see if he'd sit through it at home and he LOVED it! So I rented the second one and he LOVED it! He loves Buzz and Woody. I'm not sure who he likes more because it usually turns into "buddy" when he talks about them. We finally made it to the theater and he wanted nothing to do with it. He actually did pretty well at first, but the 45 minutes of previews killed us. We ended up leaving about 40 minutes into the movie, but it seemed great. I'm sure he'll love it on DVD.

Weston loves golfing at home with any ball and his "bat" (a long plastic tube Eric's demo devices come in) so we decided to take him to a driving range in town that no one's ever at. We thought he'd have fun playing on the putting green, but he wasn't interested in that at all...

A swing and a miss...

...but he saw an airplane so it was still pretty exciting.

Then he finally got ahold of one!!

HAHA... sorry that you locked him in the car. That's pretty funny, even though I'm sure it was NOT funny at the time!

Sorry about the car incident. I locked Hannah in the car once during the winter and it was freezing. Luckily, Jay was almost home from work and brought us a key. Hannah and I were both sobbing by the time he got there.

Chels sorry about your Tuesday, don't worry everyone makes mistakes, you're normal. Interesting about the movie, we still haven't taken Lance yet, I don't think he would sit through it either. And isn't it funny how into airplanes they get? Wes is so dang cute!

I locked Xander in the car once--it's so scary. Glad the rest of the week was so fun!

How fun! We took Ainsley to see Toy Story 3 too, she made it through the whole thing, but it was kinda scary for her. She kept yelling, "Woody" really loud in the theater during teh intense parts, I am not sure that people appreciated that. Miss you guys!

We took Ella to the same movie! She loved it - for about the first hour, then we had to find things to keep her busy because we wanted to see the show. :-)

Sorry to hear about Tuesday - how traumatizing for you! Weston, I'm sure, has already forgotten about it.

I love that you shared your tuesday with us!! Don't worry... Wynter learned how to open the car door this week, while she was buckled in her car seat... while I was driving on the free way - I seriously almost lost my kid and my door. And, Wynter did the exact same thing with Toy story! what a cute kid you have!

First of all, everyone locks their kids in at some point, I think. I just happened to have a crazy child who could unbuckle herself and unlock the door for me. Also, if it makes you feel better, Sarah asked if she could sleep on the chair when we were at Toy Story 3. Thrilling.

Oh man i just lost it and sobbed when i locked riley in the car last fall - good thing it was in MN and fall time. If we were in AZ i think i would have had to kick a window in to save him from frying! Anyway - awful moment - but i am so glad they don't remember :> It was so great to chat last night!! We sure hope things work out for you guys to visit! We'll see you soon either way. Weston is adorable - i can't believe he's almost 2! Time FLIeS!
