15 Months and LOVING spring!

(Warning- A little wordy. I'm horrible at the journal/scrapbook thing so this is it!)

Weston turned 15 months at the beginning of this month and we are having so much fun. He is now 28 Lbs 3oz. and 34 inches tall. I think he might end up being taller than his dad! He's in the 90% percentile for weight and off the charts for height. Latest milestone is that he's DONE with the bottle. I was hanging on to the night time one for selfish reasons, but we gave it a shot one night without it and no big deal...he slept the same.

He's starting to say so many words and will try and copy the last word of every sentence we say to him. I thought signing was a lost cause with him. I tried for months to teach him "more" and "all done" when he was eating. He can now say more and has been able to for a couple weeks, but just today he started signing it every time he says it. Not as helpful anymore, but at least I know something was sinking in and it's pretty cute!

My favorite (and least favorite) new thing that Weston is doing is getting embarressed. When we were in Utah over Chirstmas, a couple times, someone other than us would tell Weston not to do something and he just broke down crying. Well, he hadn't really done it since until recently and it's happening much more often. It is almost as if he's embarressed. At a friends house a couple weeks ago, someone said something like, "Oh, don't touch that." in a very nice voice. Weston stopped and sat down playing with another toy while we were all talking. After a minute we noticed that his huge lip was hanging out. He was doing EVERYTHING he could to not start crying and just keep playing. After another minute, Eric went over and picked him up and he just lost it. He almost couldn't breathe he was crying so hard. Anyway, at another friends house he was sitting on a little kid chair and fell off. I didn't think it looked like he got hurt, but it was that same cry. I think he was embarressed:) Well, it is cracking me up, but I do hope it's a short phase! I think it is all a part of his mind growing, starting to get an imagination, and be able to think through things. He also has started to have a hard time sleeping when Eric isn't here. At first I didn't think anything of it, but it is a night a day difference the day he leaves. It is really sweet, but I also hope that one's a short phase.

Love my dare devil

and tough guy!

Okay...gross, I know. We were watching a friends dog this weekend, and Weston loved her kennel. I couldn't keep him out. I eventually had to move it to my room and keep the door shut. (but not before I got in an uninterrupted work-out:) I'd be lying if I said this was the grossest thing he's ever done.

Weston LOVES to help me cook. This is his first shot at licking the beaters and he enjoyed every second. A minute later he tried to grab a whole ball of dough off the cookie sheet. (Full on tantrum followed when I told him we needed to cook them first...)

We can't get enough of this little guy!

All-Star in the making

Today we decided to shoot hoops as a family at the church. West showed off his skills and Deron Williams jersey- thanks grandma Krista!

Happy Late Valentine's Day!

We decided to drive across town for our Valentine's Day to some of the stores we don't get a chance to visit to often. We didn't end up with much, but it was worth it for the Trader Joe's Gnocchi and Granola Bars. (As you can tell...this picture was at the end of our day!)

Weston made us Valentine's cards and breakfast! Okay, maybe he had a little help with both, but he has been so funny lately in the kitchen. This day, he decided he would get the hot pads out. He put them on, played with them for a minute, went over to the oven and tried to open it, and then put them back in the drawer they go in. I had to include a picture for journal-sake.

Weston loving his Valentine package from grandma! (A little irritated that we're taking pictures and not opening the chocolates)

I had bought Weston some hot wheels cars for Valentine's Day and meant for that to be his gift, but somehow he was the only one that ended up coming home with anything on our shopping trip. He LOVES this chair...I know, how exciting can a chair be, but he really loves it.

This one is just for fun. Some friends of our gave us this rocking horse before they moved and Weston is just getting to where he can get on it by himself and it is pretty cute!

Super Bowl!

Congrats Saints! (I know, we do really like our Colts, but we just had to cheer for the Saints this year!!)

The only pics I took of the day were some pre-game pics of Weston...

Weston hovered while I made some finger foods for the game. Everytime the fridge opened, he caught it and stole some grapes or cherry tomatoes.

A MIRACLE!

Last night Weston slept from 8:00pm to 7:15am!!! Yes this is the first time that he hasn't woke up at least once or twice. Literally 3 nights ago he was up every three hours so I'm not holding my breath that it will last, but we enjoyed our little miracle!

We could all use a little extra energy to keep up with him...

If he can empty it he wil!

It's that time of year again....

No Sugar February! This now TEN year running tradition! It's evolved a little from a "challenge" to a "get back on track month," but I look forward to it every year. The basics will be the same a last year which was pretty easy. Eat 3-5 servings of fruits and veggies a day and exercise at least 20 minutes 4 times a week. If you do this, you get to have a treat that week, otherwise no sugar. Anyone is welcome to join!! If you do (Kacee) let me know so I can enjoy your misery with you!!!

This years no sugar month is being extended a little until somewhere around April 23rd when Ash and George's little Max comes. This February happened to align perfectly with a little hiccup of gestational diabetes in Ash's pregnancy so there may be a few additional guidelines we're going join in on with her, but this year's "no sugar" will end with the best treat of all...little Max!

I like to kick off no sugar with what I call..."Dr. Kaiser's Healthy Cookies." They help me wean myself off snacking on treats. I might be presuming a lot, but I'll leave the recipe incase anyone wants to try them (Keep in mind...they are weaning me off all my sugar treats)

Wisk together: 1/2c. canola oil, 1c. honey, 2 eggs, 1t. vanilla, and a dash of salt. Add: 2c. whole wheat flour, 2c. oats, and (optionally a 1/3c. ground flaxseed if you keep that onhand)
Fold In: walnuts or pecans, raisins, and/or choc. chips (Sorry...no choc.chips this month)
Bake at 350 for 15 min.

The Die Hards (the girls only of course...I don't know how we all ended up with husbands that could careless about "no sugar month!")

We've sure had a lot of fun together over the years and as you can tell by the pictures...we weren't usually short on sugar!

Vacuum!!

Weston continues to crack me up. He only says a handful of words, but his latest is "vacuum." It sounds more like "ag...um." I guess it makes sense...he can say all of his other favorite things like book, ball, and bath so why not vacuum!

This picture also evidences Eric's new nickname for Weston "Hurnado!" Yes that is an Ice Cream carton on the floor. He snatched it from the freezer while I was getting something else out.
