McCormick Creek State Park

Last weekend we drove up to McCormick Creek State Park (about 25 minutes away) It was such a fun place. They have camping areas and even an Inn, swimming pools, tennis courts, playgrounds, hiking trails, and big open area between it all. We want to get a group of people together in the fall to go up have a picnic and play football/tennis or something. Anyway, here are a few pics from our day:

Weston LOVED the playground!

It was pretty hot and Danger needed a break!

What a beautiful place to spend a Saturday!

Hodge Podge- Anniversary fun, good friends, and more!

Eric surprised me with Dave Matthew's Band concert tickets on our anniversary. I was really excited, but almost more nervous about leaving Weston for the first time for a full night. We are so lucky to have great friends, Mike and Joy, that took such good care of him! He did much better than I thought and we had a GREAT time on our first date out since Weston was born!! Thanks again guys!

We were so lucky to get to see Abby and Riley our great friends from Arizona! They came in town to visit family in Indianapolis and let us impose on their trip to the Children's museum. Weston loved tagging along with the big kids, but Riley wasn't too sure about having a tag along! (The picture at the bottom is just to show how not excited Weston was to be stuck in his stroller at any time.) We wish you guys were here all the time! We're excited that you'll at least be closer soon!

Turns out Weston can pull himself up to standing now. One day last week, both times I came in to get him from his nap he was standing up and then I was doing dishes and he crawled over and pulled himself up on the dishwasher. Looks like we are going to have to get our house in a little better babyproof shape!

This day I was just trying to do some laundry, but Weston wasn't wanting to hang out alone at all so I was carrying him in the laundry basket from his room to the laundry room. When I set the basket down, Danger kept trying to get to him so I threw him in too. Danger immediately decided he didn't want to be in there and was turning around and jumping all over trying to get out. West thought it was HILLARIOUS!

Congrats Eric and Ashley!

My cousin Eric married a fantastic girl, Ashley, last weekend. I'm so glad I was able to go to the wedding even if it was quite an adventure getting home! (Thanks for the buddy pass Taylor and James!)

We got plenty of swimming in while we were hanging out at the hotel. Jay and Jessie even came up to hang out with us for a few hours and Hannah and Weston couldn't get enough of the water. Even when Weston was so exhausted that he started to dig his head into my shoulder he'd turn around and splash and then cuddle up and then splash. I'm not sure what he thought was better...the water...or the pool side food!

Happenings!

We had a great time on the 4th of July and had a bunch of friends over for a BBQ. We had all sorts of great plans for an outside BBQ and it rained all day so we had a close quarters BBQ inside. The sparklers on the porch may have been a bit of a fire hazard, but it's not 4th of July with out sparklers!!

And, just a note. We gave Weston a sippy cup for the first time a few weeks ago and he LOVES it. He is starting to learn how to actually use it, but I think he thinks it is just a really great teething toy that squirts watch out every once in a while. We have even gone out to dinner a couple times and he's stayed in the high chair the entire time thanks to this GREAT cup!

3 Fun Years!

What a great three years it has been! We've been busy enjoying every minute of our marriage and we have been so blessed to be able to do so much! We had work and school and lots of vacations, a few moves, a crazy puppy, and our WONDERFUL little guy, Weston! We've had a lot of fun together and I'll just speak for Eric and say we're so excited to keep going through the adventures of life together. Here's a glimpse of our marriage so far!

A boy and his puppy!

While Danger is more than a hand full, Weston sure loves him. Weston's starting to be able to hold his own (if kicking danger in the head and pulling on his collar is considered fair wrestling!) Danger loves Weston too...when he hears him waking up on the monitor he's the first one in his room. Then Weston's all smiles when I go to pick him up, but then his eyes go immediately to the ground looking for Danger who gets smiles and squeals...so I guess Danger is his favorite. What can you do, the little guy runs off with all of his toys and still wins the popularity contest!

Weston is also getting pretty resourceful. He's not crawling yet, but he can get to something if he wants it...Our DVDs didn't see it coming. He sprawls them all over the floor at least once a day.

These are just a bonus...Weston loves to play and LOVES to talk! These pictures don't show case it, but his latest cry sounds like he's saying "hungry." It's actually more like "hungee," but most of the time when he does it he actually is hungry. I'm not sure if he know what he's doing, but we have been dying laughing that our little guy's first word might be hungry!
